Mudmen crush HRFC in senior men's rugby

The Hunter's Ale House P.E.I. Mudmen scored early and often and beat HRFC 46-14 in Nova Scotia Senior Men's League Division 1 action Saturday in Charlottetown.

P.E.I. went to 5-1 while HRFC dropped to 0-6.

James Mallard and Kyle Robertson each had two tries for the Mudmen. Dexter Coughlin, Phil Gallant, Aaron Fitzpatrick and Charles Waddell each had a single try and Brodie Macdonald kicked three converts.

Next up, the Mudmen play in Enfield (5-2) on Saturday, Sept. 6, in a battle for first place and playoff home field advantage.

Then on Sunday, Sept. 7, P.E.I. host Halifax Tars in a makeup game to wrap up the regular season.

Game time is 2 p.m. at Co-op Field in Charlottetown.
