SUMMERSIDE – Windfall Blue Chip and Sweet Sweet Rosco shared the fastest mile of Wednesday night’s Lobster Festival harness racing program at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.

Sweet Sweet Rosco, a four-year-old bay gelding owned by Stephen Morton of Windsor, N.S., won the $1,100 pace in Race 7. Marc Campbell was the winning driver.

Windfall Blue Chip equalled Sweet Sweet Rosco’s 1:59.1 trip in the $2,200 feature in Race 11. Kenny Arsenault drove the seven-year-old bay horse for Island owners Jamie MacKinley and Jody Sanderson.

The track was rated good, with a two-second variant, throughout the 12-dash card.

Five divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies were also a part of the program. Two B divisions went for $2,500 each while three A events had $9,660 purses.

Bossy Brilla (2:08.3) and The Queens Jubilee (2:07.3) established maiden records in the B events.

Arsenault drove Bossy Brilla for owner Wade Peconi of Stanchel.

Pam Matheson of Charlottetown owns The Queens Jubilee, driven by Gilles Barrieau.

Arsenault was back in the winner’s circle in the first A Division, guiding Dusty Lane Bria to a 2:00.1 mile for P.E.I. owners Kenneth Wilkie and Larry Chappell.

Woodmere Articblue claimed the second A event in 2:05.3. Mary Clare MacDonald did the driving for Nova Scotia owners Tanya Tremblett and Stevi Jardine.

Another Nova Scotia-owned entry, the MacDonald-driven Woodmere Dancenart, took the final A pace in 2:03.3. Morah Kerr and Phonsie MacEachern picked up the winner’s share of the purse.

The winners of all three A divisions set maiden records as well.

Campbell and Arsenault recorded three driving wins, and MacDonald picked up a pair of wins.

Other winners on the 12-dash card were:

Union Dues (2:03), Gwinning Gwen (2:01.1), Osprey Impact (2:01.4), Paphos (2:00) and Pasta Vera (2:00.2).
