New Haven sprinter Jared Connaughton finished first in the 100- metre final of the 2014 USATF Southwestern Association Open and Master Champions meet last weekend in Dallas.
Connaughton ran a 10.13 time, beating Monzavous Edwards (10.15) and Curtis King (10.25) who placed second and third.
The two-time Olympian won his heat race in 10.25 to qualify for the final.
Connaughton and the Canadian men’s 4x100-metre team recently finished sixth at the first annual International Association of Athletics Federation World Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas.
The team qualified for the 2015 IAAF world championships in Beijing.
