SUMMERSIDE – After being outscored by 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Summerside Storm bounced back in a big way in overtime.
The Storm outscored the London Lightning 18-13 in the extra period to win the much-anticipated battle between the two regular-season division winners in the National Basketball League of Canada on Thursday night.
The win improved the Storm’s record to 25-14 while the Lightning fell to 33-7. Both teams have secured byes into the league semifinals.
Before another playoff-type atmosphere at Eastlink Arena, Brandon Robinson poured in a game-high 36 points to lead the Storm while Omari Johnson and Josiah Turner each chipped in with 23.
Marvin Phillips led the Lightning with 32 points.
The Storm concludes the regular season with a home game against Atlantic Division rival Halifax Rainmen on Saturday. Game time is 7p.m.
