Just when it looked like the Summerside Storm was going to cruise to victory, the Oshawa Power responded back in a big way.

The Power overcame a 20-point deficit (65-45) at halftime to outscore the Storm 43-24 in the third quarter en route to a 117-114 win before 1,834 fans at Eastlink Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Storm had an opportunity to tie the game but Brandon Robinson rang about an eight-footer off the back of the basket with 12 seconds left in game. The Storm charged down the floor in the dying seconds, but Robinson’s attempted pass to the corner for a potential game-tying three-pointer was intercepted by the Power.

The loss snapped the Storm’s six-game winning streak in the National Basketball League of Canada, and dropped their record to 15-10. Oshawa improved to 15-11.

The Storm hosts the league-leading London Lightning Thursday at 7 p.m. The Lightning took a 22-2 record into Sunday’s game against Montreal.
