Island Trails invites recreational cyclists to close the summer season with the 2012 Island East cycling event along the Confederation Trail Sept. 28 to 30.
Participants can cycle the full event over three days or ride just one or two days. All routes are accompanied by volunteer trail officers.
Refreshments and draw prizes are provided each day. Transportation and equipment storage is available on request. Registration is $10 per day or $25 for the three days.
“This is a popular end-of-the-season event that attracts recreational cyclists from P.E.I. and the Maritime region,” said Phil Arbing, chairman of the volunteer committee. “Cyclists of all ages and abilities will enjoy the scenic ride through eastern Prince Edward Island and experience local hospitality in rural communities at the start and end of each ride.”
