Canadian ringette teams split games

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Canada East is 1-1 following opening action Tuesday at the world junior ringette championships.

Rebecca Collings of Montague is a member of Canada East, which defeated Finland Blue 12-6 but lost 8-5 to Finland White.

Canada West also finished the day 1-1 after beating Finland Blue 2-1 and losing 7-5 to Finland White.

The final of the inaugural four-team tournament is slated for Saturday.
