Come back fromn 3-1 series deficit to defeat Tigers
SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals
are moving on in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) playoffs.
The Capitals defeated the Campbellton Tigers 4-1 in Game 7 of the best-of-seven Eastlink North Division semifinal series in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League). The Capitals will now face the winner of the Dieppe-Woodstock series, which will go to Game 7 on Wednesday night.
Before 2,667 fans at Eastlink Arena, the Capitals, who held period leads of 1-0 and 3-1, received goals from Thomas Stavert (1-1), Blaize Bridges, Josh Pugsley and Mitch Dempsey. Riley Whittingham, Tanner McCabe, Morgan MacDonald, Hunter McIntyre, Joey Colatarci and Bobby Zinkan contributed assists.
Kyle Orgel replied for the Tigers.
The final shots-on-goal totals were 33-32 in favour of the Tigers. Goaltenders were Kyle Michalovsky (Caps) and Christofer Langlais (Tigers).
Referees Tim Hamel and Thane Arsenault called three minor penalties against each team.

Game 7 of MHL playoff series
SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals are 20 minutes away from advancing.
The Capitals lead the Campbellton Tigers 3-1 after two periods of Game 7 in the best-of-seven Eastlink North Division semifinal series at Eastlink Arena.
Blaize Bridges gave the Caps a 1-0 lead after the first period, but the Tigers’ Kyle Orgel tied it 2:24 of the second period. The Caps answered right back as Josh Pugsley deflected the puck and then batted it out of the air to make it 2-1 at 3:04.
Mitch Dempsey then scored on a wrap-around at 12:21 to give the Caps a 3-1 advantage.
Tanner McCable, Morgan MacDonald and Hunter McIntyre assisted on the Caps’ second-period goals.
The Tigers held an 8-7 shots-on-goal advantage in the middle frame. Campbellton is outshooting the Caps 25-21 through 40 minutes.
Both goaltenders – the Capitals’ Kyle Michalovsky and Campbellton’s Christofer Langlais – have been very steady.

SUMMERSIDE – It is playoff hockey at its finest!
The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals lead the Campbellton Tigers 1-0 after a very entertaining first period of Game 7 in the best-of-seven Eastlink North Division semifinal series in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League).
Blaize Bridges tapped a Thomas Stavert rebound past Tigers goaltender Christofer Langlais at 11:27 of the first period to give the Caps the lead.
Capitals goaltender Kyle Michalovsky was outstanding in the first period as he turned aside all 17 Campbellton shots, including a point-blank save off Gregor MacLeod and made an outstanding sprawling save with his left pad to deny the Tigers on a 2-on-none from in close.
The Capitals directed 14 shots at Langlais, and just missed a couple of glorious opportunities to make it 2-0.
The game is being played before the biggest crowd for a Caps’ game at Eastlink Arena in a long time.
Referees Thane Arsenault and Tim Hamel let both teams play hockey in the first period, and the Caps were assessed the lone minor penalty.
