MacArthur, Beaulieu record two points

O’LEARY – The Prince County Warriors are one win away from repeating as P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League champions.

Ethan Beaulieu, blue jersey, recorded two assists for the Prince County Warriors in Game 3 of the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League championship series.

The Warriors defeated the Mid-Isle Matrix 4-1 on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five final. Prince County has an opportunity to wrap up the title in Game 4 at the APM Centre in Cornwall on Sunday at 7:20 p.m., while the Matrix will look to force a fifth and deciding game.

At the O’Leary Community Sports Centre, Colby MacArthur had a goal and an assist while Ethan Beaulieu had two helpers to spark the Warriors. Bennett MacArthur, Carter Cahill and Stephen Smallwood also scored for the O’Leary-based Warriors. Chase Gaudette and Charlie DesRoches added single assists.

Nathan Mahar, assisted by Kayden MacLeod, answered for the Matrix.

After a scoreless first period, the Warriors took a 2-1 advantage into the final frame.

Winning goaltender was Chad Arsenault, and Jonah Arbing tended goal for Mid-Isle.

Each team was assessed two minor penalties.
