Vipers take 3-0 lead over Maniacs
KENSINGTON – Campbell Gallant was the overtime hero for the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers on Sunday night.

Gallant, who was set up by Ryan Murray, scored at 3:47 of the extra period to give the Vipers a 2-1 win, and a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Montague Maniacs. The defending-champion Vipers can sweep the best-of-seven Island Junior Hockey League semifinal series in Souris on Monday at 8 p.m.
Before a big crowd at Community Gardens, Nick Bouchey’s power-play goal at 10:15 of the second period opened the game’s scoring. Gallant and Jordan Mayhew assisted on the tally.
The score remained 1-0 until Kenny McKinnon set up Shawn Corney with the equalizer at 16:58 of the third period.
Grant Grady picked up the goaltending win, and Pat St-Onge tended goal for Montague. Kensington outshot Montague 36-35.
