Junior C final back in Crapaud on Thursday
BELFAST – The Southside Lynx has moved into the driver’s seat in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League championship series.
The Lynx won back-to-back games – 5-4 on Saturday evening and 7-4 on Sunday night – to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven matchup. The Crapaud-based Lynx will have an opportunity to take a stranglehold on the series on home ice at the South Shore Actiplex on Thursday at 7:10 p.m.

At the Belfast Recreation Centre, Colton Dawson scored a hat trick and added an assist to spark the Lynx, who held period leads of 3-2 and 6-3. Jake Larsen (1-1), Ivan MacPhail, Ryan Beckingham and Rourke Perry rounded out the scoring. Joe Donelle and Logan Vandervelden each added three assists.
For the Sabres, Mike MacQullian (2), Tanner Nicholson and Jordan Roche lit the lamp.
Winning goaltender was Sean MacPhee.

At the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud, affiliated player Garrett Murray (1-2), Dawson (1-2), Brady VanderVelden (1-1), Ryan Beckingham and Alex MacLeod scored for the Lynx.
Roche, Keirsten Steele, Tanner Power and Jordan Hambly countered for the Sabres.
The Sabres jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, and the teams went into the second intermission tied 3-3.
Jordan Zember earned the goaltending win.
