Islanders score three power-play goals in overtime win at Halifax

Charlottetown Islanders

Kameron Kielly scored a power-play goal in overtime Saturday as the Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 3-2.

Alexis Vanier had a goal and an assist for the Isles in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action in Halifax. Samuel Blais also scored.

Filip Chlapik and Daniel Sprong each had two assists while Mason McDonald added one on the winning goal.

All three of Charlottetown's goal came on the power play.

Kelly Bent and Otto Somppi scored for Halifax with assists to Walter Flower, Maxime Fortier and Barrett Dachyshyn.

Mason McDonald made 40 saves for the win while Eric Brassard stopped 40 in the loss. Halifax held period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.

The Islanders improved to 33-26-5-2 while the Mooseheads are 20-38-7-1.
