Islanders score comeback victory over Sea Dogs

Charlottetown Islanders

Daniel Sprong set up four goals Friday as the visiting Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Bradley Kennedy scored twice while Alexis Vanier and Samuel Blais each had a goal and an assist. Filip Rydstrom also scored while Filip Chlapik had three helpers and Will Thompson one.

Matthew Highmore had a goal and an assist to pace the Sea Dogs while Sam Povorozniouk and Bokondji Imama also scored.

Mason McDonald made 45 saves for the win while Marc-Antoine Turcotte stopped 34 shots in the loss.

Saint John held period leads of 2-0 and 3-2.

Charlottetown went 3-for-5 on the power play while killing four of the Sea Dogs six opportunities with the man advantage.

The Islanders improve to 32-26- 5-2 while the Sea Dogs are 41-18-5-0. Charlottetown plays today in Halifax at 4 p.m.
