Prince County can sweep series in O’Leary on Friday

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Prince County Warriors are one win away from advancing to the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League championship series.

The Warriors defeated the Central Attack 5-3 at the Cody Banks Arena in Charlottetown on Thursday night to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series. The Warriors will go for the sweep in Game 3 at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre on Friday at 8:15 p.m.

Bennett MacArthur (2-1), Chase Gaudette (1-1), Ethan Beaulieu and Bradley Campbell provided Prince County’s goals in Game 2.

Josh Dow, Keiran Gallant and Kennedy Gallant answered for the Charlottetown-based Attack.

The Warriors held period leads of 1-0 and 4-0.

Cole Gallant was the winning goaltender, and Alex Condon tended goal for the Attack.
