Caps win fourth in a row to move back into first place
CAMPBELLTON, N.B. – Mitch Dempsey has found his scoring touch at the right time for the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals.

Mitch Dempsey has recorded at least one point in eight straight games for the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League).
Dempsey, who extended his point streak to eight games, had a goal and an assist to help the Caps to their fourth win in a row on Friday night – a 3-1 road decision over the Campbellton Tigers.
Dempsey has 15 points in those eight contests, including four two-goal efforts and six multiple-point performances. Overall, in 23 games with the Caps since his MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) rights were acquired from the County Aces in November, Dempsey has 26 points, including 12 goals.
The Caps are now 30-12-1-1 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), one point in front of the Woodstock Slammers (28-8-4-1) in the Eastlink North Division and overall standings in the 12-team league. The Dieppe Commandos are also right in the thick of things at 28-11-1-0.
Before 638 fans at the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre, Joey Colatarci and Evan Morrison also scored for the Capitals while Sam LeBlanc (2), Jesse Annear, Riley Whittingham and Blaize Bridges added assists.
Alex Beaulieu’s unassisted goal at 4:24 of the third period spoiled the shutout bid of Capitals goaltender Matt Williams, who finished with 25 saves. Christofer Langlais faced 31 shots in the Campbellton goal.
The Caps were assessed three of the five minor penalties in the contest.
The Caps’ next game is at Eastlink Arena against the Tigers on Thursday at 7 p.m.
