Flames burn Aces with strong second period

The North River Flames scorched the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces for five goals in the second period en route to a 6-3 victory in Razzy's P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League playoff action Thursday in Tignish.

The best-of-five quarter-final is tied 1-1. Game 3 is tonight at 7:50 p.m., at the APM Centre in Cornwall.

Jarrod MacAdam (1-2), Ethan MacFadyen (2), Matt Lange and Matt Craig lit the red light behind Tignish goalie Avery Arsenault in the second.

Craig added an empty-net goal in the third. Alec Brown, Ryan McKenna and Lal Hennessey each chipped in two assists.

Tignish led 1-0 after the first period. North River had a 5-2 edge at the second intermission.

Jake Getson (2) and Colton Gallant netted the Aces markers. Dylan Rayner added two assists.

Zack Geldert earned the win.

Game 4 is Sunday, at 6:45 p.m., in Tignish.
