Abbies strike first in midget AAA playoff series with Kings

Ryne MacIsaac had two goals and an assist Tuesday to lead the Charlottetown Brighton Construction Abbies to a 5-2 win over the Kings County Kings.

The Abbies lead the best-of-five P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League quarter-final 1-0. Game 2 is Thursday at 8:10 p.m. in Souris.

Alex Young, Kyle Doucette and Jack Miller also scored in the win at Simmons Sports Centre.

Chris Sear had two assists while Alex Hall, Connor Jones, Bobby Jamieson, Andrew Campbell and Gavin Hickey each added one.

Nathan Cahill and Eddie Jenkins scored for the Kings while Cameron Pollard had two assists and Blake Jamieson and Derian Johnston both had one.

Ava Boutilier recorded the win while Jed Walsh was tagged with the loss. Charlottetown held period leads of 2-0 and 3-1.
