The Charlottetown Islanders scored four power-play goals Saturday to defeat the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 6-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Samuel Blais had two goals and an assist while Jake Coughler had an empty-net goal and two assists at the Eastlink Centre.
Alexis Vanier had a goal and an assist while Daniel Sprong and Mitchell Balmas also scored. Filip Chlapik had two helpers while Luc Deschenes, Bradley Kennedy, Kameron Kielly and Filip Rydstrom each had one.
Jonathan Bourciver, Dmitry Zhukenov and Nicolas Roy each had a goal and an assist for Chicoutimi. Jake Smith had the other goal.
Mason McDonald made 31 saves for the win while Julio Billia stopped 26 shots in the loss.
The game was tied 2-2 after the first while the Isles led 5-4 heading to the third.
Charlottetown was 2-for-4 on the power play while Chicoutimi was 2-for-4.
The Islanders (25-24-5-2) leapfrogged Chicoutimi (24-21-3-5) into 10th place in the league standings, but Chicoutimi has played three fewer games.
The Islanders host the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada Thursday at 7 p.m.
