The A&S Scrap Metal Metros scored four times in the third period and skated away with a 5-2 victory over the Kensington Mose Plumbing and Heating Vipers in Island Junior Hockey League action Wednesday at Cody Banks Arena.
Tyler Runighan led the way in the third by scoring twice and Pat McGuigan (1-1) and Curtis McGregor chipped in single goals to surprise the league-leading Vipers.
Donald Duffy (1-1) netted a first-period score for the Metros, while Zach Ladner, Patrick Cummiskey and Tanner Lund each tallied two assists.
Sam Walsh earned the win over Cameron Visser.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first. Kensington led 2-1 going into the third.
Campbell Gallant and Brian Kelly had the Vipers scores.
The Metros outshot Kensington 41-35, while neither team had a power-play goal.
