Kameron Kielly had a goal and three assists Saturday to lead the Charlottetown Islanders to a 6-4 win over the Halifax Mooseheads.
Defenceman Alexis Vanier had two power-play goals while Jake Coughler had two even-strength markers in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action in Halifax. Filip Rydstrom rounded out the scoring for the Isles.
Dexter Weber had two assists while singles went to Bradley Kennedy, Coughler, Guillaume Beaudry and Samuel Blais. Jocktan Chainey had a goal and an assist to pace the Mooseheads. Arnaud Durandeau, Barrett Dachyshyn and Anthony Sorrentino also scored. Kelly Bent had two assists while Zachary Taylor, Joel Bishop, Otto Somppi and Dominik Blain-Dupuis each added one. Matthew Welsh made 32 saves for the win while Kevin Resop stopped 10 of 15 shots before being replaced by Eric Brassard after 28 minutes. Brassard stopped 19 of 20 shots. The game was tied 2-2 after the first period and Charlottetown took a 5-3 lead to the third. Charlottetown improves to 23-23-5-2 while Halifax is 17-30-5-1.
