Stephanie Ford scored the winner with 6:29 to play Sunday as the St. Thomas Tommies defeated the UPEI Panthers 4-2 in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

In Fredericton, N.B., Kelty Apperson scored an empty-goal to ice the game with 1:16 to play.

Jessica McCann on the power play and Emily Francis gave the Tommies a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Kiana Strand and Andie Boeckman tied in with second-period tallies. Ye Eun Park had an assist.

Taylor Cook stopped 20 shots for the win while Kristy Brown made 25 saves in the loss.

The Tommie improved to 12-6-1 while the Panthers are 4-13-3.
