Stratford’s Kaitlyn Gallaway scored the winner 50 seconds into the third period Wednesday as the Moncton Aigles Bleues defeated the UPEI Panthers 3-1 in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.
Amelie Dion opened the scoring for visiting Moncton seven minutes into the first period.
Panthers captain Sam Sweet tied it with 39 seconds left in the second period. Bria Harding and Lindsay Johnston had the assists.
Karine Roy added a goal with one second remaining in regulation off a faceoff in the Panthers zone.
Emilie Bouchard made 23 saves for the win while Marie-Soleil Deschenes stopped 28 shots in the loss.
Moncton was 0-for-5 on the power play while UPEI was 0-for-3.
Moncton improved to 10-6-1 while UPEI is 4-10-3. The Panthers host St. Thomas (10-5-1) Friday at 7 p.m.
