Charlottetown visits Kensington on Saturday
SAINT JOHN, N.B. – It was a strong start to a busy weekend for the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild on Friday night.

The Wild registered a solid 6-1 road victory over the first-place Saint John Vitos in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League. The Wild is now 16-8-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), and will host the Charlottetown Islanders (0-25-2) at Community Gardens on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The Wild then heads back out on the road Sunday to take on the Fredericton Caps (11-8-6) in the New Brunswick capital.
Against the Vitos, Wild goaltender Luke Oliver turned aside 26 of 27 shots while TJ Shea scored twice to spark the offence. Brodie MacArthur (1-1), Lucas Beaulieu, Evan Gallant and Zach Thususka rounded out Kensington’s scoring. Frank Fortin (2), Chris McQuaid (2), Clark Webster, Jack DesRoches and Brendan Shea contributed assists.
Will Kelly replied for the Vitos (21-5-0).
The Wild led 2-1 after the opening period, and scored three unanswered goals in the middle frame to take a 5-1 advantage into the second intermission.
