Lynx douse Flames in third period for junior C victory

The Southside MacDonald's Excavation EF MacPhee Lynx scored five times in the third period and extinguished the North River Flames 9-4 in Razzy's P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action Sunday in Crapaud.

Colton Dawson (2-2) and Tyson Beckingham (2) lead the scoring parade, while Cameron Nelson (1-1), Cody Miller (1-1), Ryan Beckingham (1-1) while Garrett Murray and Cole Hawes chipped in single scores.

C.J. McCardle, Logan Vandervelden and Rourke Perry each had two assists for Southside, which outshot North River 36-23.

Cameron Gillis (2), Ethan MacFadyen (1-1) and Tyson Hay netted the Flames markers.

The game was tied 2-2 at the first intermission. Southside led 4-3 after two periods.

Sean MacPhee earned the win over Colin MacDonald.
