A pair of Charlottetown Islanders made The Hockey News’ list of top prospects for the upcoming NHL Draft.
Goaltender Mason McDonald is listed as the 52nd prospect while centre Alexandre Goulet is ranked 82nd in the annual publication that hit the Island newsstands this week.
The draft will be held June 27 and 28 in Philadelphia.
McDonald is an 18-year-old goalie the Islanders acquired in December from Acadie-Bathurst. The six-foot-four, 178-pound McDonald went 5-10 with a 3.35 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage for a young Islanders team.
He is currently in Toronto taking part in the NHL Draft combine.
Goulet, 18, had 26 goals and 22 assists for 48 points in 66 games in his rookie season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He is a five-foot-11, 190-pound centre from Disraeli, Que., who the Islanders drafted with the last pick of the first round (19th overall) in 2013.
