Aces pick up first win at regional junior C hockey championship

The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces picked up their first win of the tournament Thursday night with a 5-4 decision over the host South Shore Wild at the Maritime Hockey North junior C hockey championship in Liverpool, N.S.

Slade Handrahan (2), Ryley Doyle, Riley Shea (1-2) and Charlie Bernard (1-1) scored for the P.E.I. champions, who improved to 1-2.

Chase Dyment was in goal.

Earlier in the day, the Aces lost 6-3 to the New Brunswick-champion Hampton Hurricanes.

Handrahan, Doyle and Brett Gallant scored for the Aces.

The Aces will play the Spryfield Silver and Black Attack from Nova Scotia today at 2 p.m.
