The Charlottetown Mark’s Work Wearhouse Islanders tied their P.E.I. major midget hockey championship series at two games apiece Thursday with a 3-1 win over the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild.
Shawn Corney scored twice, including the game-winning goal, for the Islanders while Jonathan Arsenault had the other. Sebastien Cormier and Johnathon Larter each had two assists while Nick Currie and Alex Hambly each had one.
Abel Arsenault from Evan Millman accounted for the Wild’s goal.
Sam Walsh made 42 saves for the win while Bradley Shea had 34 stops in the loss.
Charlottetown held period leads of 1-0 and 2-0.
Game 5 in the best-of-seven series goes Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Kensington with Game 6 Wednesday at CARI at 8 p.m. A seventh game, if necessary, would be played Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Kensington.
