Maggie Grimmer scored the game-winning goal Saturday as the UPEI Panthers defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 4-3 in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey action.

Jessie Howard had a goal and an assist and Sam Sweet a pair of assists as the Panthers improved to 7-10-0.

Keirstin Visser and Anja Weisser, who was named to the German Olympic hockey team this week, also scored for the host Panthers. Ferran Brown, Bria Harding, Christina Kelly, Kiana Strand and Emma Martin also had assists.

Kenzie MacPhee, Courtney Sheedy and Elena Tsitouras replied with goals for Dalhousie (4-11-2).

Marie-Soleil Deschenes made 17 saves for the win while Mati Barrett stopped 16 in the loss.

UPEI led 3-1 after the first while the second period was scoreless.

The teams play Friday in Halifax at 7 p.m.
