Kensington Vipers blast Sherwood Falcons 11-2 in junior hockey

The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers showed no mercy in an 11-2 thrashing of the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons in Island Junior Hockey League action Wednesday at Cody Banks Arena.

Kensington held a 2-0 first-period lead, thanks to Jeremy Jollimore and Ryan Kelly, then exploded for seven goals in the second frame. The Vipers would add two more scores in the final period.

Kyle Doucette (3-1), Jollimore (2-2) and Josh Bowman each had multiple-goal games. Spencer Montgomery (1-2), Tanner MacGuigan (1-1), Ryan Kelly and Adam Wright each chipped in singles.

Jordan Mayhew (0-3), Zen Hamil (0-3) and Spencer McAllister (0-2) led Kensington in assists.

John Young (1-1) and Craig Doughan had the Falcons goals.

Kensington outshot Sherwood 43-34 and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Sherwood scored its goals with the extra man.

Vipers goalie Grant Grady earned the win. Kody MacDonald and Daniel Nicholson shared time in the Falcons net.

    Typical Sherwood Minor hockey- these kids can't compete...don't know what the associations are waiting for to merge....oh i know..too many parents on the boards with their own pesonal agenda for their little Johnny. And they wonder why the kids are quitting hockey!! A JOKE!!
