Summerside Western Capitals
Brayden Wood scored the winner Tuesday as the Miramichi Timberwolves defeated the Summerside Western Capitals 5-3 in Maritime Hockey League action.
The Timberwolves scored twice in the first two minutes to take an early lead .The Capitals tied it with two goals in two minutes before the 15-minute mark.
Wood would give the visiting Timberwolves the lead back for good a minute later.
Miramichi improved to 19-6-0-3 while the Capitals fall to 10-16-1-1.
Brett Malone had a goal and two assists for the Timberwolves while Tyler Brown had a goal and a helper. Rankyn Campbell and Jordan Kennedy also scored while Alex Scully, Mitch McMullin, Clint Windsor and former Halifax Mooseheads captain Trey Lewis had assists.
Brad Power scored twice for the Capitals while Alex Bradley and Joey Colatarci each had two assists. Thomas Stavert also scored while Cavan Fitzgerald and Malik Johsnon added assists.
Clint Windsor stopped 24 shots for the win while Alex Kelly stopped 28 in the loss.
The Caps host the Dieppe Commando Saturday and the Truro Bearcats Sunday. Game time for both contests is 4 p.m.
