McIver signs 25-game pro tryout contract

Nathan McIver of Newton has signed a second 25-game professional tryout contract with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. In 15 games with the Bulldogs this season, the stay-at-home defenceman has one assist, 38 penalty minutes and is a minus-2.

McIver, who played with the Summerside Western Capitals of the MHL as a 16-year-old, has played more than 420 AHL games and 36 NHL games.
