Halifax Rainmen snap Island Storm's winning streak

The Island Storm saw a 12-point lead at halftime disappear Saturday in a 84-82 loss to the Halifax Rainmen in National Basketball League of Canada play at the Metro Centre.

The loss halted the Storm’s three-game winning streak.

Antonio Ballard lead the Storm with 18 points and eight rebounds while Al Stewart and Adrian Moss each chipped in 12 points. David Lawrence led Halifax with 22 points while David Goode scored 19, and Tim Parham recorded 21 rebounds.

The Storm is now 7-6 on the season while the Rainmen (3-10) have won two in a row.

The Storm had quarter leads of 23-18, 50-38 and 66-65 before being outscored 19-16 in the fourth.

Due to winter storm, the Storm’s basketball game scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. against the Windsor Express has been postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.

All fans holding tickets or vouchers for Sunday’s game will have those honoured for Monday’s game. Fans with tickets or vouchers from the cancelled Tuesday game can go to the Eastlink box office and exchange either for a ticket for Monday’s game.
