Brandon Gormley could make his National Hockey League debut tonight.
The Phoenix Coyotes have recalled the Murray River native from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates.
The Coyotes host the Nashville Predators tonight at 11 p.m. Atlantic.
Rich Nairn, the Coyotes’ vice-president of communications, told The Guardian in an email that Gormley was a “game time decision.”
Gormely, 21, was drafted 13th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft. He has five assists in seven games in this his second season with the Pirates.
Gormley played three-and-a-half seasons with the Moncton Wildcats before being traded to the Shawinigan Cataractes during the 2011-12 season. The Cataractes ended up winning the Memorial Cup on home ice that year.
