Malcolm backstops Mid-Isle Matrix to bantam final victory

The Mid-Isle Matrix drew first blood Saturday in their best-of-five P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League final.

Dylan Wheatley scored a pair of goals and Ethan Malcolm stopped all the shots he faced as Mid-Isle defeated Summerside 4-0.

Daniel Collister and Spencer Beaton also scored while Hikaru Kinowaki, Carson McManaman, Kyle MecGuigan, Kurtis Green and Calen MacInnis had assists.

Mid-Isle led 1-0 after the first and 3-0 after two.

Details for Game 2 have not been finalized.
