Capitals strike early in defeating Miramichi

The Summerside Western Capitals scored four first period goals and cruised to a 4–1 victory Friday over the Miramichi Timberwolves Friday in Maritime Hockey League action.

Mitchell Maynard led the way with a goal and two assists while JP Harvey, Danny Chiasson and Jason Seed also scored. Two of the goals came with the man advantage.

Spencer MacDonald had two assists while singles went to Colton Parsons, Michael Crocock and Christopher Caissy.

Tyler Brown from Tyrone Sock replied for the host Timberwolves.

Jacob Riley stopped 19 shots for the win while Jordan Kennedy made 26 saves in the loss.

The win improved Summerside to 39-7-2 while Miramichi falls to 24-22-1-1.

The Capitals play tonight in Amherst at 7 p.m. and host the Ramblers Sunday at 2 p.m. They complete their regular season Friday in Campbellton, N.B.
