Matthew Maione scored the overtime winner as the UPEI Panthers eliminated the St. F.X. X-Men Friday in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey playoff action.

The Panthers led 3-0 and 4-1 but the X-Men, facing elimination, refused to quit.

Wayne Savage stopped 37 shots for the win while Joseph Perricone stopped 19 of 22 shots before being replaced by Drew Owsley to start the second period. He made 22 saves the rest of the way.

More to come...

Thanks Ghiz, Wayne Savage really held the team together here, 37 shots. I hear there was a lot more names on the pnp list than 37. WAY TO GO GHIZ.
