The puck will soon drop for the first playoff game between the UPEI men’s hockey Panthers and St. FX X-Men.

Both Atlantic University Sport teams practised at the Charles V. Keating Millennium Centre in preparation of the 7 p.m. showdown.

The game is the first of the AUS quarter-final series. The other series is Acadia against Moncton and will be played in Wolfville tonight.

UPEI will be missing forward Cole MacMillan, who is serving the final game in a two-game suspension stemming from a regulation match against UNB two Saturdays ago.

Forward Colin Beck and defenceman Ryan Taylor will be healthy scratches for UPEI.

Wayne Savage (.923 save average) will start in nets for the Panthers.

The game can be followed through The Guardian’s live tweets @SportsGuardian
