'This is just false, false, false': Savard Jr.

Serge Savard Jr.

P.E.I. Rocket president Serge Savard Jr. has again thrown cold water on speculation the team was on the move to Quebec.

There were rumblings out of Trois-Rivieres Tuesday that the community was targeting the Rocket as the community builds a new arena.

“I’ve never spoken to anyone with Trois Rivieres,” Savard told The Guardian Tuesday afternoon. “This is just false, false, false.”

This is not the first time Savard, who is also the team's governor, has had to deny reports of such a move.

“The Rocket is here in P.E.I., that’s it – end of story.”

Geographic location: Trois-Rivieres, Quebec

they have never had a good team they need to keep changing management until they do, not a lot would care if they left i'd say there would be a few people that have no lives anyway going on for a bit but that's it

I have been a season ticket holder since day 1. I missed about 10 games since 2004. I must say the team we have on the ice right now is the best team we have had since the Rocket moved here and its about time people get out and support the team win or loose I been there when they lost big and also there when they won big. These Rumors are just getting out of hand if they were true they would have moved about 5 times over. People need to get their facts stright nevermind the media get out and support the team and show you want the team. GO ROCKET GO.

This was a rumour created by an unreliable source on Twitter. Did the newspaper do any research into this "rumour"? In other news, the Toronto Maple Leafs are moving to Iqualuit.

Wow, it amazes me that the Guardian looks to make a story out of nothing and morons like "Lies" make these type of unfounded comments. He/she probably has never been to the CCC to even watch a game. The Savard family is really trying to make an effort, not only in the community, but also with a terrific product on the ice. It's time we get out and support this ISLAND team, and stop, once and for all, the witch hunt for an excuse not to support this team. Gordie,Luke, Spider, Kevin,Trent, Serge, and the rest of the people, who work tirelessly to build a brand as well as a competitive product should be commended for their efforts. Let's stop the foolish comments, especially the ones made by those people, who know nothing about the organization, or the game!!!

I agree, give some support for a change and stop whinning. These players and coaches are putting in a fine effort, not that anyone would know if they never go to watch.

It's the Acadie-Bathurst Titan who are considering TR! Get the facts right! Stop picking on the Savards. They are here to stay. Get the facts!
