Chris Desousa scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period as the UPEI Panthers extended their win streak to games Saturday in Antigonish, N.S.

The Panthers defeated the St. F.X. X-Men 4-3 with all but Desousa’s goal coming on the power play.

“Huge win again for the Cowboys. Also finally got monkey off my back,” Desousa said on Twitter.

The Panthers have won four straight games, all on the road, to improve to 10-9-1.

“On a bit of a roll,” Harrison McIver said on Twitter. “Another four point weekend on the road.”

Jordan Knox and Reggie Traccitto scored the Panthers’ other goals. Matthew Maione had two assists while singles went to Dana Fraser, Matthew Breton, Travis McIsaac and Traccitto.

Brennen Wray and Cory MacIntosh replied for the X-Men.

UPEI is in fifth place, three points back of St. F.X. and two points up on the Moncton Blue Eagles.

The Panthers host Moncton Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

The score was 3-2 not 4-3 Also, the Panthers did not win all four games on the road. They played at home last weekend and won both games. Win it for Mason, guys!
