P.E.I. can hold one-goal lead going to the third period

The Halifax Mooseheads scored two third-period goals for a 4-3 come-from-behind victory Saturday in Halifax.

Brooklyn’s Darcy Ashley tied it five minutes into the third on a power play and Jonathan Drouin scored the winner eight minutes later.

It is the second loss in as many days for the Rocket, which falls to 24-17-2.

The Mooseheads, the Canadian Hockey League’s top team, improves to 35-4-2-1.

The Rocket led 2-0 after the first and 3-2 after 40 minutes, but could not hold the lead.

Matej Beran led the way for the Rocket with a goal and two assists.

Jack Nevins and Tomas Pavelka also scored in the win while Josh Currie and Ben Duffy each had two helpers.

Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Frk each had a goal and two assists for the Moose.

Maxime Lagace was peppered with 38 shots. He stopped 34 in the loss.

Zachary Fucale stopped 22 of 25 shots for the win.

The Rocket is off until Friday when it travels to Baie-Comeau to play the Drakkar. P.E.I.’s next home game is Jan. 31 against Cape Breton.

    To SIGHS, your pathetic, they are only kids and doing a wonderful job, in your case its like politics, if you don't go to the pole to vote, you keep your mouth shut, the same applies to hockey. Just saying.

    I was at the game last night you should be proud of your team , hard working tough skilled well coached group, taking on the top team in the Q , with two of the best players in the world,

    Losing 4-3 against the #1 team in the CHL is far from pathetic. People like you are the problem in Charlottetown, always bashing the team without knowing the facts. Good job Rocket. There has only been 4 teams that has beat Halifax this year and we are one of them.

      Dropping a game by a goal on the road against the best team in Canada.....that doesn't sound too pathetic to me.

    Might want to check again and get facts straight.....the Rocket play again before the 18th, it's the makeup against Bathurst.
