P.E.I. Rocket forward Ben Duffy is the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Telus first star for December.

The 20-year-old Lower Sackville native scored eight goals and had 11 assists in 11 games during the month. He is tied with linemate Josh Currie for the league's scoring race with 63 points in 37 games.

Halifax Mooseheads centre Matthew Boudreau and Rimouski Oceanic rookie goaltender Philippe Desrosiers were the second and third stars, respectively.

Duffy was honoured by the Rocket Dec. 28 in a pre-game ceremony for setting franchise records during his four and half seasons with the squad. They include goals (125), assists (169), points (294) and games played (303).

The Rocket are back in action Thursday when it hosts the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7 p.m.
