It’s shaping up to be quite a weekend at Charlottetown Driving Park and Summerside Raceway as the ovals prepare for key matchups, winning streaks and the Billings Amateur Driving Series on P.E.I.

The headline Saturday night at the CDP is in the feature Race 12 when Keystone Dimitri, Oakrock Almighty and Ready Cash put their two race winning streaks on the line.

The action gets underway with a 6 p.m. post time.

Race analysts are going with Oakrock Almighty, who has the Maritime’s top driver Marc Campbell in the bike for trainer Jackie Matheson. Post 6 is not ideal in this situation, but his last mile in 1:55.4 demands a lot of respect.

Walter Cheverie will need to work out a trip for Ready Cash from Post 7.

The luck of the draw went to Keystone Dimitri and Brian MacPhee when they landed on the rail when the draw was completed earlier this week. It won’t be an easy task even with the rail against this group.

There are a lot of possibilities in here with newcomer General Luckypercy getting some attention while San Marco Hanover, CL Eighty, Mighty and Strong and Real Bond are also capable of spoiling the party.

Watch for other winning streaks today as Everything Zen, from the Mitch Tierney stable, goes his fourth win in a row in Race 9 while Wealth of Nations also attempts his fourth win for Alexis Gass of Cornwall in Race 11. Trainer Ron Gass has listed Billings driver, Sherwin Edwards, to do the driving.

The Billings Amateur Driving Series comes Charlottetown Saturday and Summerside on Sunday. The first chance to see them in action is today in Race 5 and in Race 4 on Sunday in Summerside. The drivers race all over North America for points.

The Sunday card at Summerside is making news as Rich Raider, from the Tyler Desroches stable, takes on last week’s feature winner Raging Leru, who is trained by Michel Langis of New Brunswick.

Mark Bradley drove Rich Raider to a two- and three-quarter length victory in his last start while Raging Leru, who has the services of Walter Cheverie, stayed mid-pack before making his move on route to a 1:56.4 score which included a 29.1 closer.

They will need to contend with Blue Meadow Willie from Post 2. The Bob and Brenda MacInnis star pacer can roll late when they set-up a half and had to hit the ticket from the back of the pack last week. Princess Leader, PL Betterway and Balbriggan Fox complete the power-packed field.

Riccaras Sun and driver Marc Campbell won the Thursday night feature in 1:57.1 for owner Ken MacInnis and trainer Trevor Hicken. Hicken sent out three winners on the card while Campbell added three more victories to his season leading totals on the night. The fractions of the mile were 27.2, 57.3 and 1:28.3.

Riccaras Sun notched his third win of the season out of 18 starts. Blue Star Outlaw was second with McHales Gravy taking third.

Charming Guy, driven by Brian Andrew, went down just past the half. Andrew and Charming Guy were not injured in the mishap.

Zip the Lip won the Open Trot Division in an exciting stretch drive victory for driver Brian MacPhee, trainer Donald Sweet and owner Melvin Willis of Cambridge, Ontario. The time of the mile was 2:00.3.
