MacAulay tied for 34th going into final round of Canadian amateur

Greg MacAulay will be back to defend his P.E.I. Amateur title at the Countryview Golf Club in Fairview.

Stratford’s Greg MacAulay shot an even-par 70 Wednesday during the third round of the Canadian men’s amateur golf championship at the Elmhurst Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg.

MacAulay shot opening rounds of 74 and 71 and is even-par 215, tied for 34th, heading into today’s final round.  

Warren Grove’s Cody MacKay missed the cut after opening rounds of 72 and 75 to sit 5-over 147.

The two Island golfers finished sixth in the two-round team event.

Corey Conners, of Listowel, Ont., has a one-shot lead heading the final round.

The first two rounds of the tournament were split between the Elmhurst and Southwood clubs.
