Birt completes play at junior golf nationals

Jordan Birt of Charlottetown shot a final-round 75 to close out play Friday at the Canadian junior boys’ golf championship in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Birt shot earlier rounds of 77, 76 and 77 in the tournarment and was the lone Islander to make the cut for the final 36 holes.

He finished in a two-way tie for 63rd place.

 Austin James of Bath, Ont., won the event with rounds of 69, 64, 68 and 72.
