The Summerside Spartans recorded a lopsided 46-6 victory against the Charlottetown Privateers recently in the bantam division of the P.E.I. Tackle Football League.
Spartans quarterback Jayden Reid scored two touchdowns, while Sebastian Roy-Garand also reached the end zone twice.
Running back Cameron Paynter also scored two touchdowns giving him seven on the season.
Cameron Gillis picked up his first touchdown of the year.
Privateers fullback Kenzie Gertley-Gregan scored Charlottetown's only touchdown.
The Charlottetown Privateers scored 26 unanswered points for a come-from-behind 33-13 victory against the Summerside Spartans recently in the varsity division.
The Privateers are 1-1 on the season while the Spartans are 0-1.
Running back Noah Lane was the driving force behind the Privateers' offence with three touchdowns.
Charlottetown head coach Vernon MacIntyre said Lane was a player with plenty of talent.
"He's a very shifty back, he's hard to find coming out of the backfield, and when he finds a hole he takes it."
Quarterback Colin Trewin and fullback Steve MacMillan also scored touchdowns for Charlottetown.
The Clippers put themselves on the board first with a Tyler Snyder touchdown, but the Privateers came back and tied it 7-7.
Aidan Smith put Summerside ahead by scoring a touchdown, but the extra point was blocked.
The Privateers marched back down the field late in the second quarter and after another successful extra point by Kyle Johnson, the Privateers led at halftime 14-13.
Charlottetown dominated the second half, scoring 19 points.
Clippers defensive co-ordinator Teejay Foley said the penalties his team committed were a costly factor in the loss.
"We have a lot of work to do, but it's early and we will get there."
