Casey opens Brier with loss to British Columbia

The Adam Casey rink lost 8-4 to British Columbia Saturday night in Ottawa in its first game at the Tim Hortons Brier.

Leading 4-3, British Columbia scored three in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. The teams traded singles the next two ends before shaking hands.

Casey scored singles in the first, fourth and sixth. The Jim Cotter-skipped B.C. foursome had a deuce in the second and singles in the third and fifth.

Prince Edward Island plays Alberta’s Kevin Koe (0-1) Sunday at 4 p.m. Atlantic and Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard (0-1) at 9:30 p.m.
