The Cornwall Curling Club plays host to the Curl P.E.I. provincial under-18 curling championships Friday to Monday.

Opening draw is Friday at 10 a.m.

Three of the five men's teams (plus one player on the Alex Gallant rink), and four of the six women's rinks are from the host club.

Last season's women's champs were the Kaleigh Mackay rink from the Crapaud, Montague and Charlottetown clubs, and the Leslie Noye men's foursome from the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton.

Jacob Wilkins and Gallant from the Noye team are back, with Gallant moving up to skip. Logan Maker and Connor Lilly round out the team.

Mackay is back this year, playing third on Cornwall's Lauren Lenentine rink, while Danielle Collings, Alyssa Wright and Kaleigh Peters from last year's winning rink are back as well, with Collings skipping and Wright throwing fourth stones. Lauren Ferguson joins them as the lead.

Teams play a modified triple-knockout draw, qualifying section-winning teams for a two-game championship round on Monday.

Games will be eight ends.

Winners advance to the Atlantic under-18 championships March 25 to 27 in Halifax.

There is no admission, but there will be a donation jar for the Cornwall junior program and a 50-50 draw.
