Campbell scores extra-end victory

Tyler Harris has started the P.E.I. Tankard with a 10-4 win in eight ends over Eddie MacKenzie at the Charlottetown Curling Complex.

Harris started with four in the second end. Leading 5-3 after five ends, Harris scored four more in the sixth. The teams traded singles the next two ends.

The Harris team from the Charlottetown and Montague curling clubs includes third Sam Ramsay, second Cody Dixon and Sean Clarey. They play Jamie Newson tonight at 7 p.m.

Robert Campbell saw a 6-0 lead disappear only to score a single in the 11th to defeat Tyler Smith 7-6.

Campbell opened the scoring with a deuce in the second before stealing a single in the third, a deuce in the fourth and one more in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.

Smith responded with two in the sixth before stealing singles the next four ends to force an extra end.

Campbell advances to play defending champion Adam Casey's rink tonight at 7 p.m.
