Kyle Holland and Sabrina Smith, defending P.E.I. champs from the Charlottetown Curling Complex, look to hold the provincial mixed doubles curling title when the championship begins today at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club.

Steven Thompson and Lyndsey Moore from Crapaud are the other duo in this year's event.

Play starts at 10 a.m. in the best-of-five championship series. Games 2 and 3 are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Sunday's Game 4 and 5, if necessary, go at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The winner represents P.E.I. at the national mixed doubles championship March 31 to April 3 in Saskatoon, Sask.

This two-person per team version is now an Olympic sport, beginning at 2018 Winter Games in South Korea.
