P.E.I. teams claim Maritime stick curling crowns

Rod MacLean and Paul Field defeated the Bazil and Sterling Higginbotham in the all-P.E.I. final to win the Maritime stick curling open championship held recently in Oromoncto, N.B.

This is the first time in the six years of the event a Nova Scotia team didn't win the title.

MacLean and Field from the Cornwall Curling Club are the reigning Canadian stick curling champions.

Meanwhile, Gloria Clarke and Ruth Stavert from Cornwall defeated a team from Yarmouth to win its fourth title in five years.
